Fragiles travels to Al-Sabah Art & Design Collection for its first show in the Middle East.

After successfully touring the US and Europe making stops at Design Miami 2007 and Quinze & Milan's Gallery 113 in Belgium in 2008, Fragiles will travel to the Al-Sabah Art & Design Gallery in Kuwait, a contemporary art and design gallery created by Villa Moda founder Sheikh Majed Al-Sabah.
Devoted to initiating and exhibiting art and design projects that encourage cultural exchange and inspire dialogue between local and international communities, Sheikh Majed Al-Sabah has invited Gestalten to present Fragiles as the first exhibition to follow the premiere show at Al-Sabah Art & Design, which will officially mark it'‚s opening in May 2009.

We're happy to announce that the Fragiles: Porcelain, Ceramics and Glass book is now released in Europe! The international releases will follow shortly in Asia and North America in late May. You can purchase the book through the Gestalten website or check a local bookstore near you.

Expanding on the exhibition and subject, Gestalten is publishing the book Fragiles: Porcelain, Glass and Ceramics, an extensive survey presenting over one thousand innovative and unconventional objects made out of fragile materials by established and emerging design talents. Fragiles exhibition opened

The Fragiles exhibition opened in Belgium for it’s first European show last week. Hosted by Quinze & Milan's Gallery 113 in Kortrijk, the grand opening took place on Friday, February 15th with a great audience and amazing feedback.
Due to the sensational success, Gestalten is proud to announce that the exhibition will be extended until March 9, 2008. We hope that even more people will get to see the inspiring collection of contemporary porcelain, ceramic and glass design and artworks.
We've also updated the website with photos of the opening and the exhibition.

Arne Quinze for Fragiles with Theresienthal

We have just published a "making of" film documentary on the trail-blazing Belgian artist and designer Arne Quinze who has created a series of glass pieces exclusively for Fragiles together with German artisans from Kristallmanufaktur Theresienthal. Quinze, the zeitgeist of outstanding creativity matched with the excellent craftsmanship of Theresienthal resulted in the breathtaking series called "Fluid", compromised of 5 unique glass sculptures. This limited edition collection can be seen for the first time and acquired at Fragiles along with his collection of “PORCELAIN” vases
