We're happy to announce that the Fragiles: Porcelain, Ceramics and Glass book is now released in Europe! The international releases will follow shortly in Asia and North America in late May. You can purchase the book through the Gestalten website or check a local bookstore near you.
Showcase at the Kuwait Art Foundation Limited in Dubai

After the success of the Fragiles exhibitions in Miami and Belgium, Gestalten has been invited by H.H. Majed J. Al Sabah to present the full showcase at the Kuwait Art Foundation Limited in Dubai. The exhibition is scheduled for 2009 and will be one of the first exhibitions in the new KAFL gallery space run by the retail conglomerate Villa Moda. We'll update the website with more information soon.

Expanding on the exhibition and subject, Gestalten is publishing the book Fragiles: Porcelain, Glass and Ceramics, an extensive survey presenting over one thousand innovative and unconventional objects made out of fragile materials by established and emerging design talents. Fragiles exhibition opened

The Fragiles exhibition opened in Belgium for it’s first European show last week. Hosted by Quinze & Milan's Gallery 113 in Kortrijk, the grand opening took place on Friday, February 15th with a great audience and amazing feedback.
Due to the sensational success, Gestalten is proud to announce that the exhibition will be extended until March 9, 2008. We hope that even more people will get to see the inspiring collection of contemporary porcelain, ceramic and glass design and artworks.
We've also updated the website with photos of the opening and the exhibition.

Arne Quinze for Fragiles with Theresienthal

We have just published a "making of" film documentary on the trail-blazing Belgian artist and designer Arne Quinze who has created a series of glass pieces exclusively for Fragiles together with German artisans from Kristallmanufaktur Theresienthal. Quinze, the zeitgeist of outstanding creativity matched with the excellent craftsmanship of Theresienthal resulted in the breathtaking series called "Fluid", compromised of 5 unique glass sculptures. This limited edition collection can be seen for the first time and acquired at Fragiles along with his collection of “PORCELAIN” vases

Fragiles is an eclectic collection of contemporary porcelain, ceramic and glass objects by a new wave of designers who are manifesting their creative visions out of fragile materials. Fragiles presents over fifty innovative objects that expand and challenge our notion of these classical materials and centuries of tradition by simultaneously exploring a new aesthetic approach and technological boundaries. From experimental and avant-garde to evocative retro-inspired reinterpretations, these cutting-edge examples indicate how visual culture and high tech production processes are influencing and reshaping this delicate territory in pioneering ways.
